Hilton Worldwide names Nils-Arne Schroeder as General Manager of Conrad Seoul in Korea
SEOUL, South Korea and McLEAN, Va. – August XX, 2011 – Hilton Worldwide today announced the appointment of Nils-Arne Schroeder as General Manager of Conrad Seoul. Located in Yeouido, Seoul’s renowned financial district, the luxury hotel is scheduled to open in 2012.
“Schroeder has a strong understanding of the global hospitality industry and played an integral role in opening hotels in Malaysia, South Korea and China. His experience and strong commitment to service excellence make him an invaluable asset to the team,” said Oded Lifschitz, Vice President for Operations in Japan, Korea and Micronesia, Hilton Worldwide. “We are confident in his abilities to develop and implement new luxury standards that will enhance our guests’ experience at Conrad Seoul, the latest addition to our portfolio in Korea.”
In this role, Schroeder will lead a team in preparation for the opening of Conrad Seoul, develop the hotel’s vision and strategy, as well as oversee hotel operations. He will also play a vital role in employee training and development, while driving performance across various aspects including financial success, brand value, guest satisfaction and engagement as well as service quality.
Schroeder has over 20 years of hospitality experience, half of which was spent with Hilton Worldwide, and is familiar with the Korean market having previously held the positions of Director of Sales & Marketing for Hilton Seoul from 1999 to 2001, and General Manager of Hilton Namhae Golf & Spa Resort from 2006 to 2007. In between these roles, he was the Director of Business Development for Hilton Beijing, followed by Hilton Kuala Lumpur.
Schroeder was most recently the General Manager of Hilton Beijing Wangfujing. Under his tutelage, the hotel won numerous accolades including “World’s Leading Lifestyle Hotel” at the World Travel Awards for three consecutive years and was the only Hilton-branded hotel to be awarded the “Five Star Diamond Award” from the American Association of Hospitality Sciences.
Setting a new benchmark in luxury hotel accommodation in Seoul, the 434-room Conrad Seoul will be located in the acclaimed International Financial Centre Seoul (IFC).
