SEOUL, South Korea, March 29, 2012 – IFC Seoul (International Finance Centre Seoul), located in Yeouido, has announced that IFC Mall is currently 98 percent leased, five months in advance of its scheduled opening.
IFC Mall, the first shopping mall to open in Yeouido, will target career women in their 20s and 30s who are trendsetters and have strong purchasing power, along with office workers, families, foreigners residing in the trade area and tourists.
Paul Wright, Head of Leasing at Taubman Asia, said, “We are delighted with the response from retailers who recognize the void that currently exists in the retail landscape in the Yeouido market.”
H&M, Zara, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, the first Hollister store to open in Korea and famous foreign brands including Uniqlo, Mango, Banana Republic, Gap and Cheil Industries’ Bean Pole, 8Seconds and ILMO will open stores at IFC Mall.
Featuring 110 shops along with Youngpoong Bookstore, a premium food court, a collection of quality restaurants across various price points, a CGV multiplex cinema with nine screens and other entertainment facilities, IFC Mall will introduce a new concept to the market where visitors can enjoy business, shopping, culture and entertainment under the same roof. IFC Mall is expected to breathe new life into Yeouido.
Executive Managing Director of IFC Seoul William F. Freeman said, “The successful leasing of IFC Mall proves that the Korean market has positively embraced the vision of a revitalized Yeouido. IFC Mall will become the business, cultural and social hub of Yeouido.”
IFC Seoul is a joint project between the Seoul Metropolitan Government and AIG GRE and consists of three office towers (55F, 32F, 29F), IFC Mall and the Conrad Seoul Hotel. IFC Mall, which has approximately 89,000㎡ gross floor area and 40,000㎡ retail space, optimizes natural daylight penetration into the mall through giant glass pavilions and secures the sightlines to each store through simple, column-free, common-area design. The project boasts excellent accessibility with an underground connection directly linking it to the Yeouido Subway Station and the intersection of subway Line 5 and the new Line 9.
